Sold out! If running one of the three distances of Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid was part of your New Year’s resolutions, you’ll have to wait for another chance. The 2025 event has reached its 45,000-entry limit in record time, over three months ahead the race date on April 27.
The participant list will be historic: 13,000 marathon runners will join 23,000 half-marathon participantes and 9,000 10K registrations, making it the largest running event in Spain. The finish line on Paseo de Recoletos will welcome participants from 9 am till past 3 pm. This iconic event generated an economic impact of over €64 million for Madrid in 2024, a figure expected to be surpassed this year.
The 2025 edition will also mark a milestone in female participation: 19% of marathon registrants are women, rising to 40% in the half-marathon, while, for the third year in a row, women outnumber men in the 10K (57%).
This edition will also be the most international ever, with 30% of participants coming from outside Spain, representing 113 different nationalities. France, United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and United States of America form top five countries with the highest number of registrants, excluding Spain.
In its 47th edition, Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid promises to be an unforgettable event. A waitlist has been created for runners who couldn’t secure an entry, offering a last opportunity to participate in case any current registrants cancel. The course will showcase Madrid’s most iconic landmarks, delivering a unique experience to its participants.
Pedro Rumbao, CEO of Zurich Rock ‘n’ Roll Running Series Madrid, stated, ‘This has been a historic week, with marathon, half-marathon, and 10K entries selling out on three consecutive days. We thank the runners for their support and encourage them to train hard to enjoy the event to the fullest on April 27’.
