VIRTUAL RUN

After the postponement of the EDP Rock n Roll Madrid Marathon and 1/2 to 15 November 2020 due to the exceptional protocol to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and in light of the challenging times and the current restrictions on events and public gatherings, we have launched the EDP Rock ´n´ Roll Madrid VIRTUAL RUN to be held between April 26 and May 3 and whose main goals are to motivate and inspire the global running community, to promote an active and healthy lifestyle even in these difficult times of “social distancing ” and raise funds for the fight against COVID-19. The 100% of benefits will go to Cáritas Spain for the fight against COVID-19.

The concept of the virtual race is that all participants can do it at anytime and anywhere in the world, always safely and respecting the restrictions of each country.

 

IMPORTANT: We trust the solidarity and honesty of all the participants. Now more than ever, our priority is safety. For this reason, it is essential that the participants respect the protocols established by the Health Authorities of their places of residence. In those places (such as in Spain) confinement has been decreed, we strongly ask for what is respected and that you participate in the EDP Rock n Roll Madrid VIRTUAL RUN from within your homes.

How it works

  1. The participant must register by completing the registration form.
  2. Once you have signed up, you receive your registration proof.
  3. During the week of April 20th, you will receive the instructions you must download and your virtual bib.
  4. In the stipulated period (from April 26 to May 3, 2020) the participant must complete the race (any distance, your choice).
  5. Once the participant has finished the race, they must upload an image in the official app of their device (Polar, Garmin, Sunnto, Strava, treadmill or any other), that shows the distance they have run and the time spent (it’s not mandatory).
  6. All participants will receive a digital certificate for their solidarity participation.
  7. All participants will receive the finisher medal.
  8. If you want to collaborate without participating you can make your donation with Bib 0.
  9. The full benefits of the event will go to Cáritas Spain for the fight against COVID-19.

IMPORTANT: It is essential, and the responsibility of each participant, to know their own limits and endanger their own health.

  • Opening: 15 April 2020 at 8:00 pm (Spanish time)
  • Closing: 25 April 2020 at 11:59 pm (Spanish time)

Finisher Medal pick up and shipments

  • Pick up at Mapoma Run Center: Free
  • Shipping to national address (Spain): 3,5€
  • International home delivery (Europe): 10€
  • International home delivery (Rest of the World): 15€

All medals will be shipped in June. Those people who want to pick up the medal at the Mapoma Run Center, will also receive instructions in June.

Results

  • The EDP Rock ‘n’ Roll Madrid VIRTUAL RUN  is a NON-COMPETITIVE event, so there will be no awards.
  • All participants who complete the event will receive a digital certificate that will certify their participation oncethe event ends (3/5/2020).

MAPOMA RUNNING LEAGUE by AS

The EDP Rock ´n´ Roll Madrid VIRTUAL RUN is a scoring event for the MRL by AS 2020.

The scoring criteria will be as follows:

  • All participants registered in the event (regardless of the distance in which they have participated), will receive as compensation for their participation 100 points in the Ranking of the MRL by AS 2020.

Likewise, the EDP Rock ´n´ Roll Madrid VIRTUAL RUN will count as one more race to obtain rewards.
